In November 2004, Ontario's Minister of Natural Resources proposed a number of measures to improve the conservation of wolves. In March 2005 he implemented only one of them: a limited closure on the hunting and trapping season for wolves and coyotes. This partial season closure is a good first step, but it is not enough to protect wolves in the province. The minister is now considering whether or not to implement other proposed conservation measures. It is up to the public to show Minister Ramsay where the majority of Canadians stand on this issue. A lot of help is needed to make sure previous commitments to wolf conservation are not abandoned. So, please ask Ontario's Premier and Minister of Natural Resources to take leadership in changing the way wolves are viewed and managed in Canada by taking action through www.canadianwolves.net/ontario
